Diaper Depot
The Diaper Depot is a free, community diaper program that provides one, pre-packaged bundle of 25 diapers, per child per month, to families experiencing hardships.
Would you rather diaper your baby’s bottom or give them a bath?
1 in 3 families find themselves agonizing over similar situations.
Program Need
Diaper need, defined as the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy, remains a serious and pervasive issue that impacts the physical, mental, and economic well-being of children and their families. Diapers, unfortunately, are not covered by WIC or SNAP, thus requiring households to budget an additional funds to cover the cost of disposable diapers, on top of increasing rents, utilities, food, and daycare.
To address the Diaper Gap, in 2018, the United Way of Will County officially launched The Diaper Depot program, formerly called Community Baby Shower, with an initial commitment of 10,000 diapers! Over the years, the program has evolved, experienced growth, and we are proud to share that we have provided over 286,884 diapers and counting!
